Los ministerios de Defensa y Relaciones Exteriores hablarán, en una rueda de prensa a las 12.30 de la tarde, sobre el conflicto en la frontera surgido después de un enfrentamiento entre nacionales de Haití y miembros del Cesfront en el Carrizal, Elías Piña, este fin de semana.</p>

<p style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin: 10px 0px;">La rueda de prensa se realizará en la sede del Ministerio de Defensa, en la avenida 27 de Febrero con Luperón. Según fuentes de Diario Libre y medios haitianos, en la tarde de ayer se produjo una reunión entre autoridades de ambos países en donde trataron la situación.</p>

<p style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin: 10px 0px;">El conflicto se produjo, según se ha informado, cuando varios haitianos, en coordinación con choferes dominicanos, trataron de trasladar de manera irregular hacia Haití varias patanas cargadas de cemento, lo que fue impedido por los agentes del Cuerpo Especializado de Seguridad Fronteriza Terrestre (Cesfront), quienes fueron recibidos a tiros. Un dominicano y varios haitianos resultaron heridos. También nueve choferes dominicanos están detenidos.</p>

<p style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin: 10px 0px;">El incidente provocó que el presidente haitiano, Moise Jovenel, llamara el sábado a las autoridades de su país a “tomar las medidas apropiadas para respetar la integridad territorial”.</p>

<p style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin: 10px 0px;">En su cuenta de Twitter, Jovel denunció “una violación territorial, durante la cual los compatriotas (haitianos) resultaron heridos”.</p>
